The Black Film Festival Zurich provides a platform for Black filmmakers of African Descent and brings visibility to perspectives that are often underrepresented in film. To express this mission in a contemporary visual language, the festival turned to JEFF: the existing identity had become outdated and no longer reflected the festival’s values and energy.
As part of a comprehensive redesign, the visual identity was fundamentally reworked. The established logo was retained, while all other design elements were reimagined. Based on vision, attitude and cultural relevance, a colorful, dynamic and modular design system was developed.
The new identity creates clarity, presence and recognizability without being rigid. It allows for variation, can be adapted for future editions and works consistently across all channels, from website and program booklet to posters in urban space. A visual foundation that grows with the festival.
